About Hart Mansion
The Hart Mansion sits on 4 acres, high on a hill overlooking the heart of Minerva, Ohio. It is an example of Italianate architecture that was the most popular housing style in Victorian America. The Italianate features still present include a low pitched flat roof, tall and narrow double-paned windows and carved arches above windows and doors.
Built in 1869, the original owner was George F. Yengling. In 1899, Mr. Yengling died and his wife sold the home at public auction. Hiram H. Hart purchased the residence and it remained in the Hart family for 93 years. The last owners were Paul and Gertrude Hart who had restored most of the home to its original state.
The design of the Hart Mansion Restaurant brings the original property back to life with meticulous landscaping while honoring the Italianate interior detail that still exists. The original wooden double doors are still in place and invite you to enter the heart of the home.
We welcome your special event or business meeting.
